A meaningful piece of artisan beauty with a powerful story.

The Peace Project Hmong Choker in Maroon features stunning Hmong embroidery in maroon, pink, and purple on indigo suede, wrapped around re-cast aluminium from bomb casings. This piece carries a profound message of transformation - turning the remnants of war into beautiful, wearable art.

The story behind the piece:

From 1964 to 1973, approximately 270 million bombs were dropped on Laos. An estimated 80 million failed to detonate and still litter the land. Village artisans melt down this war scrap and re-cast the aluminium bomb casings into beautiful Peace jewellery, providing sustainable income for metal workers and contributing to community development. Using traditional earthen kilns and basic wood ash moulds, they're turning a negative into something beautiful and meaningful.

Why you'll love it:

  • Handcrafted by Laos artisans with traditional Hmong embroidery
  • Re-cast aluminium from bomb casings - a symbol of peace
  • Indigo suede with maroon, pink & purple embroidery
  • Each piece supports sustainable income for village artisans
  • Meaningful jewellery with a powerful story of transformation
  • A thoughtful gift that celebrates peace and artisan heritage
